Jewish/Islamic series presents study on The Psalms March 1

The Psalms is the subject of the next “Studying the Jewish and Islamic Traditions” presentation 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the Gallery of Kilcawley Center on the campus of Youngstown State University. The presentation is free and open to the public. Presenters are Helene Sinnreich, director of the YSU Center for Judaic and Holocaust Studies, and Mustansir Mir, director of the YSU Center for Islamic Studies. Annual YSU STEM Awards Dinner Feb. 17

The eighth annual Youngstown State University College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Awards Dinner is Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus.Reception begins at 6 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner at 7 p.m. and the awards program at 8 p.m.The cost is $40, which includes dinner and parking. Mathletes come to YSU for annual MATHCOUNTS competition

Nearly 175 students from 19 middle and junior high schools through the region participate in the 2016 MATHCOUNTS competition Monday, Feb. 22, on the campus of Youngstown State University. Sponsored by the Mahoning Valley Society of Professional Engineers and YSU’s College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, the contest begins at 9 a.m. in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus.

YSU ranks 17th on list of nation's Most Affordable Online Colleges

Affordable Colleges Online has included Youngstown State University on its national list of the Top 50 Most Affordable Online Colleges for 2016. YSU is ranked 17th on the list and is the only university from Ohio that made the rankings.
