Dana School of Music jazz and flute concerts set for this week

Jazz and flutes are the order of the day for concerts Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 16 and 17, presented by the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. Both concerts are free and open to the public. The YSU Jazz Ensembles perform 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16 in Kilcawley Center’s Chestnut Room on the YSU campus. The ensemble led by Dave Morgan will perform music by Jim Hall, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker, and Marcus Miller.

So you have that shiny new surge protector power strip in your office, but it has a ridiculously short 3-foot cord. No way the plug from the lamp on your desk is going to reach. So, you grab an extension cord from home, plug it into the power strip and plug the lamp into the other end. Voila! Problem solved. Not so quick.

Melodie Provencher has been placing YSU students in gratifying jobs since 2004. She is an administrative assistant for the Division of Student Success on the third floor of Jones Hall. Although she has gone by a multitude of titles during her 11 years at YSU, her job focus has remained the same throughout. Provencher is responsible for helping students navigate the employment process on campus.
