Six students honored as Beeghly Fellows

Yana Flider, Jessica Marando, Alex McFarland, Fadi El Chammas, Nicholas Conti and Jimmy Garvin, all students from the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University, have been selected as John D. Beeghly Fellows for the 2016 Spring Semester. The John D. Beeghly Fellows program provides students with a paid fellowship working with the Ohio Small Business Development Center at YSU.

Poverty Awareness in Youngstown presents “Creating Opportunity: Some Lessons from Haiti, Detroit and Cleveland” 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, in Room 132 of DeBartolo Hall on the campus of Youngstown State University. The event features Dionissi Aliprantis, a research economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

Real Estate classes start at YSU

Individuals who want to earn a license as an Ohio real estate salesperson can begin coursework in the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University. Completion of four courses is required to take the state exam: Real Estate Law, Real Estate Principles and Practices, Real Estate Finance, and Real Estate Appraisal. All classes are offered 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Williamson Hall at 221 N.
