Available Templates and Modules
15 Week Template
- The 15-week template is organized in 15 weekly instructional units. Each weekly module can be renamed to include its corresponding topic and dates. Within each week you’ll find a standardized organizational structure designed to support quality assurance standards.
- Each week starts with an overview, clearly stated learning objectives, and an outline of the week’s learning materials to orient students. Templates for instructional content and assessments are included to streamline course development. Each module concludes with a summary to reinforce the learning objectives, ensuring students stay aligned with course goals.
7 Week Template
- The 7-week template is organized in 7 weekly instructional units for courses following this academic calendar. Each weekly module can be renamed to include its corresponding topic and dates. Within each week you’ll find a standardized organizational structure designed to support quality assurance standards
- Each week starts with an overview, clearly stated learning objectives, and an outline of the week’s learning materials to orient students. Content Templates
- Our content document templates offer a range of two-column and multi-column layouts designed to enhance the organization and visual appeal of your course content. These templates enable you to present information in a clean, structured way that supports student comprehension and engagement.
- Each layout option can be customized to display various types of content, such as text, images, videos, and interactive elements, providing flexibility to suit different learning activities. The two-column layout is ideal for pairing text with visuals or organizing content side-by-side for quick reference, while the multi-column layouts allow for more complex structuring of materials.
Blackboard Orientation Module
- This module provides students with a comprehensive introduction to Blackboard with step-by step guides and visuals allowing students to quickly become comfortable with the platform. The Blackboard Orientation modules is a consistent resource to address common Blackboard navigation and usage issues. You can spend less time addressing technical questions, freeing up more time to focus on course instruction.
Standard Course Template
- The campus template includes a default course structure with sections for syllabus and schedule and campus tutoring links.
Common Syllabus Template
- Academic Senate has approved the use of this common syllabus for all courses at YSU (supporting documentation for Senate). There are a series of required items* that must be included in your syllabus, as well as several recommended items. Using the YSU Common Syllabus templates is optional but provides a consistent experience for students.
