YSU’s Scholars in Aging Program: Prepping Ohio’s future leaders in aging

Dan Van Dussen, Graduate Studies professor in Health and Rehabilitation Science at YSU, gave testimony before the Ohio House Children and Human Services Committee, emphasizing the urgent need for a well-trained workforce to support Ohio’s growing aging population. His testimony highlighted the success of the Ohio Scholars in Aging Program, a collaborative effort between the Ohio Department of Aging and the Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education.

YSU hosts 16th Annual JA Titan Competition

High School students run virtual companies at YSU on March 4

The Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University and Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio will host the 16th annual JA TITAN Competition 9 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, in Williamson Hall at YSU. School districts in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana Counties will send 60 high school students to participate.

Youngstown State University has announced its events for Women’s History Month, including a field trip, panel, lectures and more. Women’s History Month is an annual celebration and commemoration of the lives and works of women in society. This year’s theme is strength.

YSU Data Science Club explores cutting-edge AI at Austin Conference

Eight members of Youngstown State University’s Data Science Club recently embarked on a trip to Austin, Texas, to attend the Data Science Salon conference as a recent professional development initiative. The trip, funded by the J. Douglas Faires Memorial Endowment, formally supported and signed off by Tom Wakefield, chair professor, was organized by Jeffrey Coldren, chair and professor of Psychological Sciences & Counseling with instrumental support by Jay Kerns, professor of Mathematics & statistics.
