Youngstown State University announces Women’s History Month events

Youngstown State University has announced its events for Women’s History Month, including a field trip, panel, lectures and more. Women’s History Month is an annual celebration and commemoration of the lives and works of women in society. This year’s theme is strength.

Chaya MilchteinThe YSU Department of Women’s and Gender Studies hosts Chaya Milchtein for a workshop and lecture about the auto and mechanic industry on March 17.

The workshop, titled “Are All Mechanics Scammers?”, will be held from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in the Presidents’ Suites of Kilcawley Center. Milchtein’s lecture, “Queering the Industry,” will be held at 6 p.m. in the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor.

In addition to Milchtein’s lecture, YSU will also be holding the following events:

  • Women’s Rights Field Trip: Saturday, March 15, to the Women’s Rights National Historical Park and National Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, New York. More info.
  • Women’s Panel in the Hub: 11 a.m. – noon, Tuesday, March 18, at The Hub in Kilcawley Center. More info.
  • The Much Misunderstood Women’s Liberation Movement with Linda Gordon: 6 p.m., Thursday, March 20, at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor. More info.
