YSU students inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma

The 2025 YSU Beta Gamma Sigma induction ceremony

The Youngstown State University Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma in the Williamson College of Business Administration, installed 67 business students during induction ceremonies held February 23 at the YSU campus.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the world’s premier business honorary society reserved exclusively for schools accredited by AACSB International The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Becoming a Beta Gamma Sigma member is an honor indicative of commitment, high academic achievement, and leadership. A truly international organization, Beta Gamma Sigma members are found in all 50 states and more than 190 countries around the world.

Beta Gamma Sigma was founded as a national organization on February 19, 1913. Its membership, now comprising of more than 980,000 men and women, includes the best and brightest of the world's business leaders. While almost 350,000 students receive bachelor’s or master’s degrees in business each year, only about 25,000 are inducted into a lifetime membership in Beta Gamma Sigma. To be eligible for membership, students must be registered in business administration programs and be candidates for the baccalaureate or master’s degree. Students ranking in the top 10 percent of the sophomore, junior, or senior classes or the top 20 percent of the master's program at are eligible for this membership.

The inducted students include 13 sophomores, 16 juniors, nine seniors, and 22 graduate students. They are:

Tom Fleming, Chairman and CEO of Aim Transportation Solutions, was the keynote speaker and chapter honoree. He has been named a most loved CEO by Most Loved Workplaces.com. He is a third-generation member of the Transportation community hailing from the Youngstown, Ohio area, where Aim is headquartered. Tom graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School and was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Boston College with a BS in Economics, where he was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society. He has actively participated in many industry, civic and charitable organizations, serving as board members, most times, as a chair. He was a chair for the boards of the National Truck Leasing Association, The Truck Renting and Leasing Association, The Chamber of Commerce of the Mahoning Valley, Goodwill industries, The YMCA of Youngstown, The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, the Youngstown State University Foundation and the United Way of the Mahoning Valley.

This year represented the 26th induction class for the Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter at Youngstown State University. It has now inducted 1,202 students. This year’s student officers are President Grace Economus along with Vice Presidents Katie Buttar, Sienna Summers, Emily Basista and Katherine Wamsley. Jeong Hoon Choi is the chapter advisor.
