Dana School of Music presents Chamber Winds at Music at Noon

The Dana School of Music proudly presents the debut performance of the Wind Ensemble’s Chamber Winds at the next Music at Noon concert, 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5, at The Butler Institute of American Art.

This special performance showcases chamber repertoire, offering Dana student musicians a unique opportunity to refine their ensemble skills. The program includes a diverse selection of works, highlighting both iconic and lesser-known compositions.

YSU holds ServiceFest

YSU ServiceFestYSU ServiceFest, an afternoon of service, inspiration and impact will be held 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the Chestnut Room, Kilcawley Center.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, students, faculty and staff are invited to gather together to give back and make a difference.

YSU's Judith Rae Solomon Gallery celebrates Black History Month with artist Crystal Miller

Crown JewelsYoungstown State University’s Cliffe College of Creative Arts will celebrate Black History Month with a vibrant exhibition created by interdisciplinary mixed-media artist Crystal Miller.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 3, through Friday, Feb. 28, YSU’s Judith Rae Solomon Gallery will house Adornment, Miller’s Black History Month exhibition, which explores Afro-futurism using unconventional materials, including beads, glitter, rhinestones and foam.

Export Assistance Network at YSU wins two awards

The Ohio Small Business Development Center Export Assistance Network at Youngstown State University won two awards at the 2024 SBDC Statewide Conference in Columbus.

The EAN at YSU received the Ohio SBDC 2024 “Best Export Assistance Network Award” from the Ohio Department of Development. In the past year, the EAN generated an increase of $19 million in export sales and spent more than 850 hours consulting with clients in 13 counties.

YSU 2025 Penguin Shark Tank competition applications now open

Applications for the Youngstown State University 2025 Penguin Shark Tank Competition are now open. The event will offer students the chance to compete for business investments from a pool of $10,000, with top prizes awarded in two categories. All current YSU students are eligible to apply.

To participate, students must submit their applications, including a brief video, by March 1. Finalists will be selected to present a five minute pitch at the final competition, on Thursday, March 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Williamson College of Business Administration.
