Dana School of Music presents Chamber Winds at Music at Noon

The Dana School of Music proudly presents the debut performance of the Wind Ensemble’s Chamber Winds at the next Music at Noon concert, 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5, at The Butler Institute of American Art.

This special performance showcases chamber repertoire, offering Dana student musicians a unique opportunity to refine their ensemble skills. The program includes a diverse selection of works, highlighting both iconic and lesser-known compositions.

Among the featured pieces is Paul Dukas’ Fanfare to La Péri, a striking and powerful work written as a last-minute addition to his ballet La Péri. Also included is Old Wine in New Bottles by Gordon Jacob, a delightful collection of English folk tunes reimagined for a wind ensemble. The concert concludes with selections from Kurt Weill’s Little Threepenny Opera, a satirical tale set in Victorian London that follows the notorious criminal Macheath, also known as “Mack the Knife.”

Music at Noon is free and open to the public, and free parking is available at the Butler and in other adjacent lots for a minimal cost.
