  1. A course syllabus must be provided to each student in each course taught. The syllabus shall be distributed within 7 days after the beginning of the term. (Electronic distribution of the syllabus is acceptable.)

New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation welcomes full-time faculty members to Youngstown State University, and begins the formal faculty development and mentorship process. Attendees are familiarized with university culture, benefits, policies, and procedures during a two-day workshop.

TLC also offers orientation to new department chairs and new part-time faculty members.

Faculty Learning Communities

"Faculty Learning Communities" are relatively small groups who spend a year working on teaching and learning topics. The group, ideally interdisciplinary, may select focus courses or projects in which to try out innovations and assess learning, presenting project results to campus (at minimum).
