Syllabus

YSU requires a syllabus to be distributed to each student at the beginning of each course. The syllabus serves as the official document and explains the specific objectives and goals of the course. It is important that the syllabus presents clear expectations and objectives for students. Review and explain the course syllabus in the first class meeting of each course and as needed.

YSU academic departments provide guidance and a sample of what is to be included in the syllabus. Once the department has given final approval, submit a copy of the syllabus to the CCP office.

Part-Time Agreement

YSU’s academic departments issue “zero-dollar, zero-workload” part-time agreements to CCP instructors. The part-time agreement is emailed to the instructor's YSU email account. Upon signing, it is returned to the academic department for further processing.

Instructors are non-paid, part-time YSU faculty members. Non-paid, part-time YSU faculty members are not entitled to tuition remission or any other benefits as outlined by the OEA faculty agreement at YSU. CCP instructors do, however, receive full access to Maag Library.

Site Visits

YSU faculty will ask to visit the high school classroom once every year for each different course you teach. The purpose of these meetings is to interact with students, observe teachers in the classroom, and discuss course materials, requirements, and other expectations and concerns.

Roundtable Meetings

CCP instructors are required to attend three hours of professional development each year. A CCP roundtable meeting is scheduled in the fall and spring semesters to meet this requirement. The academic department may also schedule additional meetings as needed. Attendance is critical as these are considered faculty meetings for YSU CCP courses. They provide opportunities for instructors to keep updated on the University course and participate in the intellectual and collegial community of the University and CCP.

Instructor Application Process & Deadline

How to Apply

Prospective instructors submit a College Credit Plus (CCP) Instructor Application online documenting their credentials. YSU academic departments review the applications and forward them to the Provost's Office, which reviews potential faculty/CCP instructors to ensure they meet Higher Learning Commission (HLC) credentialing requirements. YSU academic departments make the final decision on whether or not a CCP Instructor application is approved.

A complete College Credit Plus Instructor Application includes ALL of the following:

Qualifications for CCP Instructors
