Students in the Sokolov Honors College presented the United Way of Youngstown and Mahoning Valley with a $10,000 check following fundraising efforts last semester. Funds were raised through efforts connected with the Intro to Honors class and projects led by the Honors Trustees student organization.
Youngstown State University Bachelor of Science in Dietetics student Jenna Wagner was named as one of 10 students to be selected for the 2025 Scholars in Aging program by the Ohio Department of Aging.
Nicolette Warren Powe, associate professor of Public Health in the department of Graduate Studies in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences and 2024 Athena Award winner, will present “Bridging Health and Education: Advancing Equity for Women and Girls Through Community Engagement” at the Feb. 1 meeting of the American Association of University Women, Youngstown chapter.
The John J. McDonough Museum of Art, Youngstown State University’s Center of Contemporary Art, will open 2025 with five dynamic exhibitions featuring guest artists Julia Betts, Anna Chapman, Abby Cipar, Will Hutnick and Sidney Mullis.
These exhibits will be on display beginning Tuesday, January 21, through Friday, February 28.
The Nursing and Physical Therapy Career Fair will take place 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Monday, January 27, in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center. This event provides an excellent opportunity for nursing and physical therapy students to meet with prospective employers, explore job opportunities and ask questions about various facilities and organizations.
