YSU CSIS presents national GPU workshop

The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) at Youngstown State University is set to host the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) along with the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center, in room 116 of Meshel Hall, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 30, 2017, for an OpenACC GPU programming workshop.

This workshop, which will be broadcast nationally, aims to introduce a beginner to GPU programming. Anyone with basic knowledge of C or Fortran can attend this one day tutorial and obtain real-world programming exercises. The attendant will be able to continue further learning of GPU computing after walking out of this workshop. 

Other participating schools include University of Colorado Boulder, Tufts University, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, Howard University, Georgia State University,  University of Arizona, University of Houston-Clear Lake, Purdue University, Ohio Supercomputer Center, Pennsylvania State University, California State Polytechnic University – Pomona, Old Dominion University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Iowa State University
