YSU Alumna named 2017 STEM Elementary Educator of the Year in Wyoming
Adrienne Unertl has been named the 2017 STEM Elementary Teacher of the Year in Wyoming. The 2001 Youngstown State University alumna was recognized during the state’s 2017 STEM Conference August 2-4 in Gillette.
Unertl, who grew up in Orangeville, Ohio, graduated with a BS in Secondary Education Comprehensive Science from YSU in 2001. After working for schools in the Youngstown area for two years, Unertl made the move to Wyoming.
Unertl has been in her current role as Assistive Technologist with the Uinta County School District #1 in Evanstown, Wyo. since 2015. As Assistive Technologist, Unertl works in Special Education at the district level. She is responsible for helping find equipment and services that benefit students and researching hardware and software and to make recommendations to the IEP team about services or equipment that aligns with the student’s IEP goals.
