Italian Heritage Foundation awards scholarships
Six Youngstown State University students will get some help with their tuition expenses this fall after accepting $1,000 scholarships awarded by the Italian Heritage Foundation of Youngstown.
The following students were presented scholarships at the 32nd annual Greater Youngstown Italian Fest the weekend of August 4-6:
- Maria LaRocca of Youngstown, a junior Interpersonal Communications major.
- Angela Rodino of Austintown, Ohio, a sophomore Criminal Justice major.
- Vincenzo Sferra of Hubbard, Ohio, a junior Nursing major.
- Stephanie Rivera of Canfield, Ohio, a junior Biology Pre-Medical major.
- Hunter J. Flati of East Liverpool, Ohio, a freshman and Beaver Local High School graduate.
- Richard Anthony Troisi Jr. of Niles, Ohio, a freshman Pre-Law major and Niles McKinley High School graduate.
The Italian Heritage Foundation of Youngstown Scholarship program was established to award scholarships to deserving college students of Italian heritage that are attending YSU. The Greater Youngstown Italian Fest is a main revenue source for the foundation, along with private donors.
