Mezzo-soprano Linda Di Fiore to present masterclass in Bliss Hall
YSU’s Dana School of Music will welcome mezzo-soprano Linda Di Fiore to campus for a masterclass Thursday, November 4 at 3:00 PM at the Bliss Recital Hall in YSU’s Bliss Hall.
Di Fiore is a Regents Professor Emeritus at the University of North Texas. She recently retired from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she served as area head of voice. Di Fiore currently teaches voice and opera as a professional faculty member at the DePaul University School of Music.
Di Fiore also serves as the voice teacher for Opera Santa Barbara’s studio artists and maintains a private studio in California as well as in Austin, Texas. She has performed professionally as a soloist in operas, oratorios, recitals, and in musical theatre for over forty years. Her career has also included guest performances with organizations nationally and internationally.
An active song recitalist, Di Fiore has presented masterclasses at numerous universities and has taught students who have gone on to prestigious graduate programs and careers. She currently holds a master teacher position in the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and she is in high demand as an adjudicator for national- and regional-level vocal competitions.
The masterclass is free and open to the public. Masks are required in all YSU buildings.
