Ads Summit at YSU

The Youngstown State University Ads Club sponsors the Second Annual Advertising Summit, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, in the auditorium of the Williamson College of Business Administration at YSU.  

The Summit, which is free and open to the public, features industry professionals including Chris Cole and Becky Bertuzzi along with the YSU’s Ads Club Competition Team.  Presenters will share their experiences and work in the worlds of Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations and Design in a TEDx atmosphere.

Cole is the Vice President of Bridgford Foods Corporation.  Bridgford is a $160 million corporation based out of Anaheim, California and is the second largest pepperoni and beef jerky manufacturer in the United States.  Cole graduated from Youngstown State University in 1984 with a BSBA in Marketing.  Cole, employed by Bridgford for 31 years, is helping to turn the company into a powerhouse in their industry.  He has recently won Walmart's Merchandising Strategy Partner of the Year award.

The Marketing Manager at VEC, Inc., Bertuzzi, is responsible for all marketing, communication and advertising for VEC, Inc. She is heavily involved with business development efforts including proposal development and coordination. Bertuzzi is also the owner of B2 Graphics, her freelance graphics and website design consultancy. She is a 2007 YSU graduate with a BSBA degree in Advertising & Public Relations. Bertuzzi was a member of the YSU Ads Club competition team, Beta Gamma Sigma and the YSU swim & diving team.
