IT Application Services designs and maintains software solutions to run the University business. This includes our core Ellucian Banner (ERP) system and integrating data with many third-party vendors to provide a seamless user experience.
Software
Serves as the single point of contact for processing software renewals, professional services engagements, and negotiates contracts for the Information Technology (IT) Division. Works with constituents as needed to minimize institutional procurement, licensing, and other costs for the acquisition and use of technology hardware, software, and services; approves changes to procedures and implementation of modern technologies via Solution Architecture Review (SAR), Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and Return on Investment (ROI) evaluation processes.
Contracts
Develops, reviews, recommends, and/or administers contract terms and conditions with vendors for the institution and/or institutional collaborations to include RFI, RFP, license agreements, Service Level Agreements (SLA) and similar. Interacts with vendors as appropriate to facilitate the same; prepares and presents business cases for technology investments; works with leadership, stakeholders, and customer areas to understand, document, and communicate roles, requirements, and value of scalable, cost-effective technology solutions.
Budget
Provides cost-effective, high-quality technology services that enhance the teaching and research mission of the University. Promotes, communicates, and reinforces regulations, policies, procedures, standards, best practices, etc. with regards to compliance, efficiency, and success. Accountable for Quality of Service(s) provided by the IT Business Operations Office, related measures/metrics, and area compliance with data quality standards regarding assets, work estimates, productivity, and capacity measures.
The IT Customer Services team is the first point-of-contact for all YSU technology questions, concerns, and service requests via the IT Service Desk. We implement and support academic and administrative technologies such as end-user computing, audio & visual equipment, and software.
The IT Data Analytics department houses specialized talent in data warehousing, analytics, reporting, systems administration, and business application support. Working closely with stakeholders across institutional effectiveness, enrollment management, student affairs, finance, HR, and more, the team focuses on technical oversight and support of key business systems as well as driving adoption of enterprise analytics for data-informed strategy and operations.
The IT Infrastructure Services department is dedicated to creating a robust digital ecosystem, overseeing crucial areas such as identity management, server operations, data storage, network connectivity, and telecommunications. The team strives to deliver a secure, reliable IT infrastructure that aligns with and enhances the University’s educational and research objectives.
Mission of IT Security Services is to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems, identity, and data assets by providing proactive security expertise, creating, and maintaining a resilient and secure infrastructure, and fostering a culture of security awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
IT Training Services collaborates with the campus community to drive innovation and technology skills development. Our technology trainers facilitate workshops, create, and curate instructional materials, and provide personalized consultations for faculty, staff, and students. We focus on enhancing skills related to University-adopted software and devices.
