Reading and Study Skills Center
An academic service offered to YSU students. Provides students with strategies for improving reading and studying and an understanding of the importance of these skills.
Provides resources, assistance and employer connections for students and alumni who are exploring future career options or refining employment search skills.
Counseling services give professional assessments, consultations and referrals to clients.
Provides and administers paper- and computer-based tests such as placement tests, GRE subject tests, the ACT, MCAT, LSAT, Praxis, MAT and CLEP. The Writing Center is in charge of running placement testing. Contact Amy Gordon, manager, at 330-941-1343 to request to take an exam or for questions.
Responsible for the following services and programs at YSU: International Students and Scholars Program, Study Abroad and the English Language Institute.
Offers a non-credit intensive English program and classes for college-bound students, permanent residents, immigrants and special interest groups from around the globe.
Located on the second floor of Debartolo Hall. Offers Bachelor of Arts degree programs in English and professional writing and editing, as well as several options for minors, certificates and graduate programs.
Site includes research databases, JSTOR, OhioLINK, MaagNet and more.
Provides assistance and information to students, faculty and staff with disabilities. The Writing Center encourages students to submit accommodation forms from Disability Services if needed. The WC coordinator can also make additional arrangements for students such as allowing two appointments per week.
Housed in Lincoln Hall, the MAC serves to assist YSU students in strengthening mathematics skills and to provide resources and materials for independent study.
