Robert J. Korenic is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of the Civil and Construction Engineering Technology program at Youngstown State University. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Youngstown State University. He has eleven years of work experience in water resources planning and management and in the wood and light gauge steel roof truss industry. Professor Korenic teaches a variety of engineering courses including hydraulics and land development, properties and strength of materials, sustainable design pertaining to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and water and wastewater treatment process analysis and design. His research currently encompasses sustainable storm water management process design including storm water volume calculations and bioretention/rain garden design principles. His most recent research on sustainable storm water management was presented and published at the American Society of Engineering Educators national conference in Columbus, Ohio (June 2017) and at the Engineering Sustainability 2017: Innovation and the Triple Bottom Line conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (April 2017). This is a national conference affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering and the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation.
