YSU students recognized at Model UN competition

Several Youngstown State University students earned honors at the Lake Erie International Model UN competition earlier this fall. Teams from 15 universities competed, and the YSU contingent consisted of 14 students organized into seven delegations.

Award winners included:

• Dan Naples and Lauren Myers, Excellent Delegate Award for representing Hungary on NATO.
• Kristen Howell, Excellent Delegate Award for representing Indonesia on the Security Council.
• Nadine Jones and Mike Factor, Excellent Delegate Award for representing the USSR on the Historical Security Council.
• Carson Markley and David Hofsess, Excellent Delegate Award for representing Cuba on the Historical Security Council.
• Carson Markley received the Parliamentarian's gavel as a special distinction.
• David Hofsess received the Historical Security Council Chair's gavel as a special distinction.
