The students, under the guidance of Emre Ulusoy, assistant professor of Marketing, placed as one of the top three team finalists and will present their case analysis and international marketing plan at the 29th annual National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators International Conference in Newport, R.I., on Friday, April 8. The YSU team was awarded a full conference registration and a $1,200 team travel stipend. The NASBITE International Student Competition brings the best marketing students together to work on solutions to an international marketing challenge submitted by Cleveland Whiskey, the case sponsor. Cleveland Whiskey, a small manufacturer operating in Cleveland, Ohio, is looking to expand globally, focusing on the Asian market, specifically Singapore. Representatives from the sponsoring organization will act as the final judge and select the winning submission. Business students present their work at national, regional, and local conferences showcasing their knowledge and skills by solving business problems and adding significantly to their educational experiences. The proficiencies developed in this competition including case analysis, international marketing strategies and plans, and professional presentation skills will significantly expand the students’ career opportunities.
