YSU Jazz Ensemble features arrangements by YSU students Aaron White and Andrea Richard
The YSU Dana School of Music Jazz Studies Area will present the YSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Kent J. Engelhardt, professor of Music in the Dana School of Music, 7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25, in the Ford Theater, located in YSU’s Bliss Hall.
The ensemble will feature a variety of jazz staples, including “This Bass Was Made For Walkin’” by Thad Jones, “Lazy Day” by Bob Mintzer and “Haitian Fight Song” by Charles Mingus.
The ensemble will be joined by guest vocalist Elizabeth Jadue, who will sing “Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise” as arranged by YSU undergraduate student Aaron White and “Better” as arranged by YSU graduate student Andrea Richardadding a unique touch to the evening’s performances.
The YSU Jazz Ensemble and vocalist Elizabeth Jadue will close the concert by performing “Cool Yule” by Steve Allen to usher in the holiday season.
Entry to this event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 fee payable in cash only.
