YSU Honors College Open House Sept. 27
The Honors College at Youngstown State University welcomes prospective Penguins at an open house 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 on campus.
The annual event gives high school students and their families the chance to learn about the honors student experience at YSU and potential majors; tour the honors residence hall and apartment building; and interact with current Honors students, staff and faculty.
Interested honors-eligible high school students should register online. To be eligible for membership in the Honors College, high school seniors must have an overall GPA of 3.5 and a minimum ACT score of 26 or SAT score of at least 1240.
The YSU Honors College provides academically talented students with added depth to their YSU experience through advanced coursework, service to the Youngstown community and opportunities for engagement and leadership on campus.
“Students typically describe the Honors College as offering additional opportunities, a community of students with similar learning values, and a sense of being part of a supportive family as they pursue academic, career, and personal goals,” said Amy Cossentino, College dean.
