YSU honors college hosts release party
The Youngstown State University Honors College celebrates the first publication of The Emperor at a release party on Wednesday, April 19. The event was held in the Board Room of Tod Hall.
The Emperor, a new academic journal that publishes peer- and faculty-reviewed articles by honors and honors-eligible students, is coordinated through the Honors College by students and faculty advisor Diana Awad Scrocco, assistant professor of English.
The journal received 48 submissions for the inaugural edition, of which eight were chosen for publication by a faculty and student review board. Submissions are reviewed anonymously using a blind review process and are evaluated with respect to originality, academic and practical relevance, thoroughness, accuracy, consistency, credibility and referencing.
Authors published in the first volume had the opportunity to share a summary of their work at the release party.
Submissions are currently being accepted for next year's volume. Submission guidelines can be found on the Honors College website. Volume I can be read online.
