YSU Bridges Out of Poverty Student Union presents poverty simulation this week

The Youngstown State University Bridges Out of Poverty Student Union presents a Poverty Simulation 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Feb. 12,in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus. The event instructs participants in what it is like to live inside of poverty. As a student organization, BOPSU supports under-resourced college students by bringing awareness to issues they may face. BOPSU is dedicated to changing the perceptions of and towards under-resourced college students by providing learning communities and support services. Recently, BOPSU members spoke out on poverty in a national conference in Cincinnati to create change not only in Youngstown but in other urban areas and states as well.
