YSU Biology Day features lectures, info, presentations, awards

The Youngstown State University Department of Biological Sciences presents Biology Day on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The day includes a research poster presentation in the morning in the President Suites of Kilcawley Center, followed by a series of presentations and discussions in the afternoon in Ward Beecher Hall:
Noon. The Carl S. Sims Memorial Keynote Address by David Gemmel, senior director of Medical Education and Research, Mercy Health, in Room 3022. 1:15 p.m. Open exhibits and displays about biology clubs, career counseling, graduate programs and other services for undergraduate students, in the third floor atrium. 1:30 p.m. Jill Thompson, assistant director of Recruitment and Outreach at the Northeast Ohio Medical University, presents “How do I get into graduate school?” in Room 4003. 2:30 p.m. A variety of M.S. biology students present “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Life of a Graduate Student” in Room 4003. 3:15 p.m. Awards presentation in the third floor atrium.
