Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor launches new website

The Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor has launched its new website.

The enhanced site is a joint effort between YHCIL staff, graduate student interns in the History Program at Youngstown State University, and the AmeriCorps Ohio History Service Corps.

The website will provide for greater accessibility and serve as a perpetual platform for the YHCIL to share virtual programming, educational activities and collections with the community, as well as provide updates on closures, upcoming events and other happenings, said Marcelle Wilson, site manager.

The museum on Wood Street on the south side of the YSU collects, preserves and interprets industrial and labor history of the Mahoning Valley, the region and the state of Ohio and features hundreds of photographs representing labor, immigration and urban history. Objects on display range from workers’ tools and clothing, to life-sized scenes including a mill’s locker room, part of a company-built house, and a blooming mill.
