Wednesday, March 16, 4 p.m. YSU Student Government presents a panel discussion titled "Fear of Islam?" in Room 132 of DeBartolo Hall on the YSU campus. The panel features Mustansir Mir, YSU professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies and director of the YSU Center for Islamic Studies, Imam Walid Abuasi and Abdulkader Amoudi of the Islamic Society of Greater Youngstown and Khalid Iqbal of the Islamic Council of Ohio.

Thursday, Marcy 17, 6 p.m. Six YSU graduate students will make presentations about their scholarly work and research at the annual Diversity of Scholarship event in the Jones Room of Kilcawley Center on campus. 10 a.m. on military careers in music, convocation at
11 a.m. and master classes at
noon, in Bliss Hall.
Friday, March 18, 11 to 11:50 a.m. A panel discussion on “Gender and Sexuality on TV: Jessica Jones, Empire, and Transparent” will be held in the Gallery of Kilcawley Center. YSU Professor Laura Beadling facilitates a discussion about images of women on television. Other participating YSU faculty will include Deb Cunningham, Dolores Sisco and Megan List. The event is part of YSU’s Women’s History Month activities.

Thomas Professor of History and chair of the Department of African and African American Studies at Harvard University, presents a lecture titled “When Black Lives Matter: A Historical Perspective” in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center. The event is free and open to the public. A reception will immediately follow. The lecture is presented by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Epsilon Mu Omega and Delta Delta chapters, and sponsored in part by the Youngstown Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, the YSU Bitonte College of Health and Human Services and YSU Student Diversity Programs.
