Event is in the new offices of the YSU Foundation in Melnick Hall in Wick Avenue.Monday, Feb. 22, 7:30 p.m. The Dana School of Music’s Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble perform a concert in Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Avenue, Youngstown.Tuesday, Feb. 23, 5 p.m. Dana Sperry, associate professor and Digital Media area coordinator, presents a lecture titled “a” in 3000 Lecture Hall in the McDonough Museum of Art on campus. Sperry will talk about a series of video and coded-based generative artworks that explore themes of isolation and anxiety of contemporary life. In addition, he will talk about his collaboration with Natalya Pinchuk titled “Dreaming Youngstown,” a social practice project focusing on brainstorming potential futures for vacant lots and buildings. Free and open to the public.Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2 p.m. Angela Burt-Murray, former editor-in-chief of ESSENCE magazine and co-founder of Cocoa Media Group, presents a lecture titled "Black Voices Matter: Race and Gender in the Age of Social Media" in Williamson Auditorium, Room 1171. The lecture is part of YSU’s recognition of African American History Month.Wednesday, Feb. 24, 7 pm. Richard Wolff of The New School in New York presents “Economic Update on Energy and the Environment” as part of the YSU Lecture Series on Energy and the Environment in Cushwa Hall Room B112. Free.Thursday, Feb. 25, noon to 4 p.m. The STEM Professional Services office in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics hosts the semi-annual STEM Internship/Co-op Expo in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center at YSU.

The men's basketball team closes out the regular season this week with two games in Beeghly Center.

Thursday, Feb. 25, and Saturday, Feb. 27. A Penguin women’s and men’s basketball double doubleheader closes out the regular season home schedule in Beeghly Center. On Thursday, Feb. 25, the women take on Valparaiso at 5:15 p.m., followed by the men matching up against Wright State at 7:45 p.m. The women play again, 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, vs. UIC in Beeghly Center, followed by the men at 7 p.m. against Northern Kentucky.Thursday and Friday, Feb. 25 and 26. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 26, 27 and 28. University Theater presents “
Tartuffe,” the classic 17th-century comedic satire by Molière, in Bliss Hall’s Spotlight Theater on the YSU campus. The show also runs March 4, 5 and 6. The Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. while the Sunday matinee performances are at 2 p.m.Saturday, Feb. 27. YSU hosts the 2016 Physics Olympics. Dozens of high schools and hundreds of students will compete in events such as the Egg Bounce, Flying Machine, House of Cards, Mousetrap Racer and Ping Pong Ball Launch. YSU celebrates the 20th anniversary of the 1995-96 YSU women's basketball team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The ceremony will take place at halftime of the Penguins' game against UIC, which begins at 4:30 p.m. at Beeghly Center. The 1995-96 women's basketball team was the first Penguins team to advance to the NCAA Tournament, and it set the stage for YSU qualifying for the tournament three times in a five-year span. The team was led by Coach Ed DiGregorio and seniors Shelly Allen and Christina Ferraro.
