Tree Campus USA: 11 years and counting...
"He who plants a tree," 19th century poet Lucy Larcom once wrote, "plants a hope."
In that case, there's a bunch of hope on the YSU campus.
For the 11th consecutive year, the Arbor Day Foundation has named YSU a Tree Campus USA, recognizing effective campus forest management and staff and students engaged in conservation.
From Chinquapin Oak, Tulip Poplar and White Birch, to Kentucky Coffeetree, Sassafras and the good ole American Elm, YSU’s 145-acre campus boasts nearly 2,000 trees of nearly 95 species, including this one on the south side of Kilcawley Center.
