TEDx speaker coach gives free campus talk Sept. 4

Kymberlee Weil, an award-winning speech strategist who has coached more than 100 speakers, visits the campus of Youngstown State University for a talk 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 in the Williamson Hall Auditorium.

The program, sponsored by Compco Industries, is free and open to the public and hosted by the Department of Communication in the Cliffe College of Creative Arts and Communication and the Williamson College of Business Administration.

Weil will be in town for TEDx Youngstown, which occurs on Sept. 7, coaching the speakers in advance of their talks.

"The executives and communication experts who Kymberlee has coached over the years on public speaking reads like a who's-who list of some of the most prominent, successful leaders in our fields. So, we're very fortunate to have her visit,” said Adam Earnheardt, chair of Communication.

"She knows how to get people to tell their stories in ways that linger with an audience long after the lights have gone down and the curtains have closed."

Influenced by her experience at the annual TED conference over the last 12 years and by producing TEDx events, Weil works with clients on all aspects of their presentations, from content to performance. She is the recipient of the 2014 Spirit of Entrepreneurship Award for Professional Services.
