Technology, women, 3D printing featured in Global Entrepreneurship Week on campus
The Williamson College of Business Administration Entrepreneurship Center at Youngstown State University is gearing up for Global Entrepreneurship Week through a partnership with the Youngstown Business Incubator.
Numerous events, including panel discussions on cutting edge topics, a documentary about startups, workshops and networking events, will take place Nov. 14 through 18.
Here are the events:
- Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2 p.m., in the WCBA Auditorium. Joe Angelo, director of the WCBA Entrepreneurship Center will host a screening of “Generation Startup” documentary about learning how to fail and redefine success. More information on the film at https://www.generationstartupthefilm.com/. The screening is free and open to the public.
- Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1:30 p.m., in the WCBA Conference Center. “Women in Entrepreneurship” panel will be held followed by a panel presentation about “Technology in Entrepreneurship” at 3 p.m. A class titled “3D Printing 101” will be held at 5:30 p.m. in Williamson Hall in classroom 2201. Attendees of the 3D Printing 101 course will learn about the history, current state, and future of the 3D printing industry and will have the opportunity to operate desktop 3D printers, design custom parts and print their creations. - Friday, Nov. 18. YSU business students volunteer for “JA in a Day.” Volunteers will deliver the 4th-grade Junior Achievement program “JA in Our Region” emphasizing entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness to all fourth grade classes in Youngstown City Schools.
The WCBA Entrepreneurship Center enhances economic development and commercialization efforts by providing training and support for regional innovators, entrepreneurs, and students.
