Office of Alumni Engagement releases Homecoming Weekend schedule of events
The Youngstown State University Office of Alumni and Engagement announces a Homecoming Weekend of activities, centered around reconnecting and reminiscing with fellow Penguins. Throughout the 83rd Homecoming celebration, alumni are encouraged to follow along on the YSU Alumni social media pages for giveaways and prizes leading up to the Homecoming game.

Young Alumni Homecoming Mixer
Join fellow recent alumni on 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19 at Penguin City Brewing Company located on 460 E. Federal Street in Youngstown for a Homecoming mixer. Come prepared to swap stories and business cards, all while wearing your favorite YSU gear to mix and mingle with other former Penguins. Cost is $5 and includes a drink ticket for any canned beverage. RSVP here.
Alumni Tailgate
Kick-off game day by heading over to the Alumni Tailgate Saturday, Oct. 21. Make sure to visit the Alumni Engagement tent in the M70 lot for your chance to win exclusive YSU prizes and giveaways. Afterward, join all fellow Penguins to cheer on YSU while they play against Illinois State, starting at 2 p.m.
Half Century Club
To wind down the weekend excitement, alumni from the class of 1973 and earlier are invited to rekindle their Penguin spirit and reminisce with classmates while guest speaker YSU President Emeritus Jim Tressel presents on YSU’s future, focusing on the forthcoming new student center, the Zoldan Family Center. Retired YSU Executive Director of Administrative Services, Phil Hirsch will also be present, reflecting on the beginnings of Kilcawley Center during his time as its first director. YSU Alumni Archive: Homecoming
In a collaboration between the YSU Office of Alumni Engagement, Maag Library and University Archives, an Alumni Memory Archive is being compiled, made up of a collection of alumni submitted memories and experiences to be hosted through the University's online archive. This year, the focus is on Alumni experiences at YSU during Homecoming! Homecoming memories and up to 3 photos can be shared through the online form.
