The McDonough Museum of Art at Youngstown State University hosts three lectures in connection with the “Changing Views: Designing Youngstown’s Future” exhibit now on display at the museum.
YSU’s Regional Economic Development Initiative teamed up with students and faculty from Kent State University’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design and KSU’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative. The exhibition highlights planning and design work that has taken place over the past year between the local community groups, economic development professionals and City of Youngstown residents along with the design expertise of KSU’s CAED and CUDC students.
The lectures are:
Wednesday, June 29, 10 a.m., Kristen Zeiber, Urban Design and Project Manager, Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative, “Community Conversation: Ideas and Opportunities from the 2015 Youngstown Community Design Charrette.”
Thursday, July 7, 5:30 p.m., Terry Schwarz, Director, Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative, “Historic Preservation and Urban Regeneration.”
Tuesday, July 19, 10 a.m., David Jurca, Associate Director, Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative, Urban Design for Cold and Variable Climates.
