Jazz Ensemble features Jazz Classics and new music from YSU students

Youngstown State University’s Jazz Studies Area will present the Jazz Ensemble, directed by Kent J. Engelhardt, featuring jazz classics and new music from students Aaron White and Andrea Rich at a concert 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 14 in Ford Theater of Bliss Hall.

The Jazz Ensemble will perform “The Blues Machine” by Sammy Nestico, “Green Piece” by Maria Schneider and “Make It Happen” by YSU undergraduate student and pianist Aaron White.

Vocalist Elizabeth Jadue will sing “Something’s Gotta Give” by Johnny Mercer and “Mood Indigo” by Duke Ellington. She will be joined by Luke Walters on vocals to perform “Knock On Wood” by Eddie Floyd. Jadue will also sing “Rosanna” by Toto as arranged by YSU graduate student and lead alto saxophonist Andrea Richard.

The event is free and open to the public. Parking for events in Bliss Hall is available at the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 fee payable in cash only.
