Information sessions are scheduled in May for Youngstown State University’s new Master of Accountancy Program, which begins this coming Fall semester. Information sessions are scheduled for noon and 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 4; 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 6; and 6 p.m. Monday, May 16, in the Williamson College of Business Administration at YSU. The program is designed to be completed in two semesters. Students can study full-time or complete the 30 semester hour program part-time. The Master of Accountancy Program enables students to develop the advanced knowledge and skills to identify/use accounting and tax resources to support decision making; communicate clearly, logically, and persuasively; recognize and address ethical issues in a financial and business context; and analyze and manage data in various settings. The program also allows students to earn 30 semester hours towards the 150 required to sit for the CPA exam in Ohio, or help prepare them for the CMA exam. Application to the program requires submission of the following information to the YSU College of Graduate Studies and Research: a completed application for graduate admission, a letter of application stating professional goals and objectives, a resume, and an official transcript from each college or institution attended.
