History Across the Humanities call for proposals for annual conference
Youngstown State University undergraduate and graduate students are invited to submit proposals for the 10th annual “History Across the Humanities” Conference (HATH), to be held February 22-24, 2024, at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor.
This year’s theme, “Understanding the Past, Improving the Present, and Imagining the Future,” has been encouraged to be interpreted broadly. Topics of interest include the history of science; science-fiction; science-fiction in film and literature; and pop culture. There is also a preference for presentations that consider how education, tourism, science, and technology enhance the quality of life within a community.
Proposals for individual papers, panels, group presentations, workshops and roundtables on any subject related to the humanities are welcomed, though submissions that reflect community engagement with the humanities, including public history are encouraged. Presentations should be 15 minutes in length. To submit a proposal, visit the website by December 18.
HATH is sponsored by the Robert W. Reeder I and Charles Darling Endowments in History, the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor and the Trumbull County Historical Society.
