Greek Sing marks 69th year April 9

Greek Sing, the annual song-and-dance show featuring Youngstown State University fraternities and sororities, marks its 69th year 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9, in Stambaugh Auditorium just north of campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

Students compete in groups to showcase their talents, build community in their organizations, and to have fun. This year’s theme is “Musicals” and features selections from The Greatest Showman, Mamma Mia, Grease, The Wizard of Oz and more.  

For the third year, Greek Sing is sponsored by alumni Gary and Shirley Wuslich, who were members of the Greek system during their undergraduate years at YSU. Gary, a native of Export, Pa., was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon at YSU, and Shirley was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and became a Sigma Phi Epsilon Little Sister. They met during a fraternity and sorority mixer.

The Wuslichs moved to Granger, Ind., where Gary worked and later retired as a human resources executive. Shirley had a career as an elementary scholl teacher. Gary passed away in November at the age of 76. The Wuslichs have established the Gary and Shirley Wuslich Scholarship at the YSU Foundation.
