Graduates' work featured in McDonough exhibits

The work of students graduating with degrees in Fine Art this Spring is featured in exhibits opening this week in the McDonough Museum of Art on the campus of Youngstown State University. (Pictured here are works by students Naomi Carrier, Evie Zimmer and Chanda Weigal.)

The Spring Graduating BFA and MFA Thesis Exhibitions open Friday, April 23, and run through May 8.  

The exhibits celebrate the work of 18 students receiving bachelor’s degrees in Fine Arts in the areas of digital media,  photography, graphic+ interactive design and interdisciplinary studio art. Student participants are Siobhan Bacha, Amanda Bendel, Naomi Carrier, Michael DeMarco, Megan Gray, Alexis Herrick, Bailey Hill, Cassandra Holsopple, Mohammad Imashat, Anissa Kalbasky, Andrea Minotti, Lani Ngo, Yesenia Pezel, Donato Salisbury, Christina Simmons, Isabella Starkey, Hope Sudol and Chelsea Woodman.

Also in the exhibit is work by three students graduating with master’s in Fine Arts degrees in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts: Karen Fisher, Success is Not a Coincidence; Chanda Weigel, Abracadabra; and Evie Zimmer, Glimpse. 

The museum on Wick Avenue is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Face coverings and social distancing required. Capacity limit of seven per gallery. Special hours by appointment for vulnerable populations. More at mcdonoughmuseum.ysu.edu.
