Freshman wins award to study in Costa Rica

Brea Tinsley of Champion, Ohio, and a freshman Chemistry major at Youngstown State University, has been selected to receive the Ohio International Consortium Donald N. Nelson Scholarship for Study Abroad.

The $1,500 award will help with expenses relating to Tinsley’s University Studies Abroad Consortium in Costa Rica this coming fall semester.

Tinsley, a graduate of Champion High School, is in the YSU Honors College and a member of the Spanish Club and STEM Leadership Society. In Costa Rica, she will take classes in Spanish in order to complete her minor in Spanish.
