Doctoral candidates vote on caps and gowns for commencement

Students earning doctoral degrees at Youngstown State University are being asked to vote on the caps and gowns that they will wear at commencement. The YSU College of Graduate Studies, with the support of Provost Martin Abraham, is in the process of adopting special academic regalia to be worn by doctoral candidates starting with the Spring commencement this May. by the Academic Events Committee of the YSU Academic Senate. Sanders said he is going to email illustrations of the three choices to all doctoral candidates. The cap and gown getting the most votes will be adopted. Voting deadline is Feb. 7. YSU currently offers the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) and Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.). For more information, contact Sanders at sasanders@ysu.edu.
