Department of Art presents guest artist Richard Renaldi
Youngstown State Univerity's Department of Art presents a lecture by guest artist Richard Renaldi Thursday, December 7. An informal talk will occur at 9 a.m. in Bliss Hall Room 3000 with a lecture to follow at 3 p.m. in the McDonough Museum Auditorium.
Both events are free and open to the public.
Renaldi creates spontaneous and fleeting relationships between strangers for the camera, often pushing his subjects beyond their comfort levels. These relationships may only last for the moment the shutter is released, but the resulting photographs are moving and provocative, and raise profound questions about the possibilities for positive human connection in a diverse society.
Renaldi was named a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellow in Photography in 2015. Exhibitions of his photographs have been mounted in galleries and museums throughout the United States, Asia and Europe.
Parking is available in the M30 Wick Avenue parking deck for a nominal fee. For more information contact the Office of Community Engagement and Events at 330-941-2307.
