Dana Tuba/Euphonium Studio presents “Octubafest”

Octubafest, presented by the Dana Tuba/Euphonium Society, is making a return appearance on Friday, October 29, 7:00 p.m. at the McDonough Museum of Art.

The recital is free and open to the public. Masks are required in all YSU buildings.

Honoring the rich heritage of the tuba and euphonium, Octubafest was established in Octuba (October) 1973 by Harvey Philips, professor emeritus of Indiana University School of Music and is generally a concert or series of concerts and public recitals showcasing the solo and ensemble repertoire for tuba and euphonium.

Music will be by composers Eric Ewazen, Ralph Vaughan-Williams, James Curnow, Bert Appermont, Hiroki Takahashi, Ludwig van Beethoven, John Stevens and Jaromir Vejvoda.

The recital will feature performances by members of the Tuba/Euphonium Studio as well as solo performances by students Bruce Deal, Connor Remington, Manoli Kondolios, John Fitch and Juan Rodriguez.
