Dana School of Music hosts Open House Oct. 11
The Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University hosts a Fall Open House, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 11 in the first-floor lobby of Bliss Hall near the University Theatre Box Office.
Students considering attending YSU’s Dana School of Music will have the opportunity to experience a day at Dana by meeting professors and current students; sitting in on vocal and instrumental ensemble rehearsals, student and faculty recitals, and other classes. A full day of information and music has been planned to assist students considering an education in music. Audition and admission information will be available as well as scholarship and financial aid materials.
Students should bring their musical instruments with them as there may be time to participate in a variety of ensemble rehearsals.
“The Dana School of Music has provided quality music education for almost 150 years, producing outstanding alumni in vocal, performance and music education,” stated Randall Goldberg, director of the Dana School of Music. “We are very proud of our history and continuity of educating those who want to pursue music as their life’s work.”
He added that activities at the Dana Open House encourage students and their parents to review programs that the Dana School of Music offers, and to obtain information for admission.
Registration is preferred but not required, those registered before October 10 will be eligible for a prize package. To register, visit the Dana School of Music website.
Parking for the event is free and available in the M30 parking deck via Walnut Street (GPS address is 100 Wade Street, Youngstown OH 44502) when students and parents identify themselves as a Dana School of Music Open House attendee. Patrons are advised to watch for posted detours as construction progresses on Wick Avenue.
