Construction will begin May of 2025 and is scheduled to be completed by Fall of 2027.
Flex Dollar options will be available at satellite facilities (Cushwa Café, Schwebel Café, and Maag Café, Christman Dining Hall, temporary dining located in Chestnut Room and the Extension, Chick-fil-A, and mobile food lockers.)
Student employment will still be offered by the student center in three locations across campus including the Card Office new location in Beeghly Center, and in year one Silvestri Hall, Kilcawley Chestnut Room, and Extension.
Although no construction will take place in Kilcawley House, we will limit the impact of nearby construction on the student experience. During the academic year, active construction work is limited to business hours.
Perimeters of construction will be established, and pathways will be identified for safe movement through campus.
Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center will not be impacted. The Cove activities will be relocated to the Chestnut Room and extension during year one, and to the new food court during year two. Student Government, Penguin Productions, and Student Activities are being relocated to Silvestri Hall. Jambar and Rookery Radio are going to be relocated to Bliss Hall.
Student Experience is committed to continuing to provide exciting programs to all students and will be creative in finding new homes for programs. Look forward to Penguin Nights in the Andrews Recreation and Wellness Center!
Yes, the project timeline was developed keeping the student experience in mind. The 2.5-year renovation will be done in small phases, limiting the impact on the student experience.
Graphic Services will continue to support student organizations and students by providing all previously offered services from their new location in Sylvestri Hall basement.
The IT Help Desk has relocated to Maag Library (Room 406C)
Guest Services (including the card office, will be relocated to Beeghly Center lobby.
Accessibility Services has relocated to DeBartolo Hall, 3rd Floor (Room 357)
We encourage you to use the YSU App to stay updated on campus amenities like study lounges, food services, computer labs, copy machines, convenience store, printers, and informal gathering spaces.

There is a great variety of spaces on campus where you can hold meetings— some that have been set aside because of the renovation, and some great ones that you may just not know about yet. All of these spaces are listed at this link.
During year one, you can table around food areas in the temporary food court in the Chestnut Room. Go to this link to reserve. Year two, you will be able to use the new food court! For many other locations that are available all over campus, go to this link.
All catering will be done through Catertrax and the catering manager.
