What You'll Study
The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 630 is based at Kent State University, where Leadership Lab and Aerospace Studies classes are held. Detachment 630 is not exclusive to one university; there are cadets serving at eight schools across Northeast Ohio.
Courses are normally taken for YSU academic credit as part of a student's electives. Entering freshmen and sophomores may register for aerospace studies courses at the same time, and in the same manner, as they enroll in their other YSU courses. Students enrolled in the program must travel to Kent State University once a week to attend the courses.
The program also offers information on Air Force career opportunities and the role of the military in American society. Scholarships are available to help students complete their bachelor's or master's degrees.
